President and Founder
The President and Founder of Globaltronica Corporation, Rui Fernandes, has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering with a specialization in Product Design and Development
from the University of Maryland, Post-Graduate studies in Systems
Engineering with concentration in Systems Management from George
Mason University, in Virginia, and a Graduate Diploma in Business
Administration from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
Rui Fernandes first engineering experience was has a coop Compliance
Test Engineer with the US Department of Transportation (US DOT),
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the Office
of Vehicle Safety Compliance. As a Test Compliance Engineer Rui
Fernandes was responsible for reviewing manufacturer's submissions
concerning certification testing to the requirements of the crashworthiness
standards, and assisted in the development of the laboratory test
procedures used in compliance testing of child restraints and passenger
car seats. Assisted in research projects concerning impact safety
on school buses, power operated windows and devices that affect
persons with disabilities.
After graduating from the University of Maryland, Rui Fernandes
took a position as a Design Engineer with Dresser Equipment Group
- Wayne Division. As a Design Engineer Rui was responsible for the
development of field retrofit kits to convert existing six hose
gasoline dispensers to uni-hose blender dispenser and two-hose blender
plus diesel dispenser. Rui also developed project cost estimates,
product development schedules, design reviews, product specification
documents, and project status reports.
In yearly 2001 Rui Fernandes went to work for Flowserve Corporation
Worldwide Water Resources Front Line Team, has an Applications Engineer.
At Flowserve Rui Fernandes reviewed all technical specifications
in inquires for pumps, motors, controls and instrumentation. Reviewed
preliminary specifications prepared by consulting engineering firms
to assure proper specification, application and design of equipment.
Advised, coordinated and facilitated equipment requirements to assure
successful system integration. Prepared bid proposals for municipal
water resources projects in USA, Canada, and US Aid projects in
Africa.
